Amazon Robotics Day: In-Person Employer Session & Hackathon
Employer Session: Amazon Robotics will be on campus on Friday, September 27th, 2024, looking to engage with bright minds at the University of Waterloo! They will be hosting a one-hour Tech Talk, where they will discuss some of the projects they are working on at AR as well as what the day of a typical AR Engineer looks like. Additionally, there will be an Interview Tips session, where you can get an idea of the structure of Amazon interviews! After lunch, there will be a chance for you to connect with women who are building robots and next-gen work cells at AR.

Expression of Interest for WiCS funding to attend CAN-CWiC
CAN-CWiC is getting ready again to welcome students to the 14th celebration of Women in Computing Conference! This conference provides an opportunity for attendees to connect with and learn from leading tech innovators and continues to redefine the technology ecosystem for women and non-binary technologists. This annual event features networking, learning, sharing and mentoring.
WiCS is providing free registration to 30 students (giving priority to students who are not receiving WiCS funds to attend GHC).

WWIN Innovation Project
Do you have an interesting idea for how to improve the campus experience for women+ in the Faculty of Math? Maybe you want to mentor and connect with local youth? Maybe you want to host a guest speaker? Whatever your idea is, if it helps to build community for women+ at Waterloo we want to hear from you! This year, there is $3500 to grant to students, faculty and staff interested in supporting gender diversity in the Faculty of Math.

Develop at Ubisoft Mentorship Program
Ubisoft Toronto is excited to bring back Develop at Ubisoft (DAU) 2024 – 2025! This program is focused on fostering emerging talent, who identify as women, transgender, non-binary, and/or Two-Spirit.
In this program, students will have the chance to tap into talented mentors' expertise and work on a video game-related project. They will receive regular feedback and dedicated support to help them enhance their skills and bring their project to life. Mentees will also get the opportunity to network with each other and Ubisoft Experts.

September & Consent Week with SVPRO
This September, SVPRO is pleased to spotlight Consent Week, circulate new resources, and share exciting initiatives. It is an opportunity for campus community members to meaningfully engage in conversations and initiatives centered on consent, boundaries, healthy relationships, and the prevalence of sexual and gender-based violence. We all have a role to play in shaping and advancing a consent culture on campus, in our everyday lives, and beyond.
Consent week intentionally encourages us to:

Normalize dialogue about consent – both in our sexual and everyday interactions.

Model and practice consent – embed consent in daily practices, and across different settings and relationships.
-
Enhance understandings of consent and boundaries.
-
Explore how to best engage in healthy, positive, and respectful relationships with each other.

Share information about on and off campus supports, services, and programming

The WiCS Study Room, located in DC 3150, is a designated space for WiCS students to connect, collaborate, and study. It offers a supportive environment and an opportunity to engage with peers and role models.
Fob Access (Fall 2024): To gain access to the study room for the Fall 2024 term, please complete the fob request form linked below. The WiCS Event Coordinator will inform you via email when your fob is ready for pickup.
Note: Fobs will be available after the second week of classes.
