Users will no longer be able to use Remote Desktop to access any Arts Computing Labs. Our labs are open for users physically on campus. All software is still available through Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)

Information Systems & Technology is coordinating an incident report that will be shared with appropriate stakeholders, including a follow-up with the vendor and lessons learned.

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2017 will be removed from all IST managed computers in Academic Support departments.

Why is this happening?

What is happening?

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Waterloo worked with Chinese network provider, Alibaba, to set up a virtual private network (VPN) to improve access to online learning resources for students studying in China. IST has observed use of this service has declined during the transition back to in-person teaching and learning. As a result, the service will be discontinued.
