A Queer and Pleasant Ragger: A Gender Journeys Group

This is a thoughtful and supportive group specifically designed to support gender diverse (trans, non-binary, two-spirit, questioning) UW Students. This is an in person, drop in style group, come to one session or all of them!. The group is facilitated by Washington Silk (they/them), a counsellor with lived experienced.

• May 16 - Understanding and exploring gender identities 
• May 23 - Mental Wellness for Trans and NB Folks    
• May 30^th - Exploring the many waves of change and transformation 
• June 6^th – Soup and Bannock at WISC - Gathering for National Indigenous History Month and Pride   
• June 20th - Information and resources for medically transitioning, with Tabitha Zindel, NP  
• June 27^th - Guest Speakers & Panel Discussion with some Community Members (Note the Special time: 11am-1pm) 
• July 4^th – A Queer and Pleasant Ragger Aka Good Bye Party

Facilitator

Washington Silk (They/them), MSW, RSW is the 2SLGBTQ+ Student Support Counsellor, Counselling Services. I am a transgender and queer therapist and social worker. I have had the pleasure of working and learning from and with the queer and trans community for over the past decade. I am a white settler from Alberta. I also have lived experience of ADHD and learning disabilities. My life experiences inform my approaches and motivation for supporting students during this unique time of growth in many students lives. Outside of work I love dogs, science fiction, cheese, miniature things, and good conversations.
