MATES (Mentor Assistance Through Education and Support) is a one-to-one peer support program offered by the Federation of Students (Feds) . MATES provides services to students who are experiencing social difficulties, and transitional challenges adapting to university life or different cultures.

Our Services

MATES volunteers go through an intensive selection process and receive extensive training in the following areas:

  • stress and anxiety
  • academic issues
  • social and relationship difficulties
  • transitional challenges to university life
  • challenges in adapting to culture

We offer both appointment and drop-in sessions. Students can set up an appointment with a MATES Peer Supporter by contacting us at our email address or by walking into  our offices for our drop-in hours to receive immediate support.
