Please ensure that you name all files clearly so the whole package can be kept together.
For this program, acceptance is based on rolling admissions. It is best to get your application in as soon as possible so it can be considered early on.
Using your preferred communication style to show us why you are the right fit for the conference! You can be as creative as you like with it. Video, audio, artwork, etc, the format is up to you; but be sure to show/tell us about:
- Yourself and your interest in science, engineering, and leadership
- Why you want to come to Catalyst
- What you can contribute to the program
You may submit your Personal Interest Application electronically (through the Information Form) or mail a hard copy. Please note that applicants are responsible for the cost of mailing their Personal Interest Application.
Maximum size: approx. 1 sheet of paper or 2 minutes of media
You will be asked for teacher contact information (name, e-mail address) in the application form. When asking a teacher for a reference, choose somebody that knows you well and can comment on all your strengths. This might be a math or science teacher, but it could be a teacher from another subject too.
Your reference will receive an e-mail from Catalyst asking them to complete our 'quick reference form.' They will be asked the following questions:
- Do you think this student would make a great engineering university student? If so, why?
- What impresses you about this student (comment on academic ability and social skills)?
- How do you think they will benefit from this weekend?
The application form collects contact information, courses in progress, and contact information for your teacher reference. The application form also allows you to submit your personal interest application electronically (if appropriate). Click on the "Apply Now" button above to start your application.
