STEMpowered PD Day Camps

Get ready for a STEMpowered PD Day Camp!

For the Fall 2026 term, we will run one day camp available for self-identifying Black youth in grades 2-3.

Participants have fun with hands-on activities by learning engineering design principles, try out some fun tech, connect creativity with STEM and explore the UWaterloo campus!

One Day In-Person Program

Grade 2-4


When: October 26; 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (Drop-off: 8:30-9:00 | Pick-up: 4:00-4:30)
Location: University of Waterloo, Waterloo Campus
Price: FREE for self-identifying Black youth

We are excited to offer free pizza (cheese or halal pepperoni) and snacks for the programs. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate gluten-free dietary needs.

STEMbassador After School Clubs

Engineering Outreach is excited to offer STEMpowered STEMbassador Clubs, which are free four-week after school club programs available for self-identifying Black youth in Grades 4-6 and 7-9.

Participants will work with our staff and mentors to explore how their interests connect to STEM. At the end of the 4 weeks, participants will have the opportunity to showcase to friends and family how their interests connect to STEM! No prior experience is required, and new content is developed each term, making repeat participation welcome and encouraged.  

4-Week In-Person Programs


When: Weekly evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 pm (See dates below) | Drop-off from 5:45-6:00, Pick-up at 8:00pm
Location: University of Waterloo, Waterloo Campus
Price: FREE for self-identifying Black youth

STEMpowered Side by Side Family STEM Drop-in Event with image of facilitator showing activity to a family

Available for self-identifying Black youth in Grades K-6.

Bring the whole family for a drop-in evening of STEM fun! Explore creative, interactive activities that kids and families can do together, side by side. No prior experience is required, and new content is developed each term, making repeat participation welcome and encouraged.  
Please note that this event requires at least one parent/guardian to attend with your participant(s).

When: Wednesday, December 16th; Drop in between 6:00-8:00pm
Location: University of Waterloo, Waterloo Campus
Price: FREE for self-identifying Black youth

The program is aimed at Grades K-6, but siblings of all ages are welcome to join!
