STEMpowered Fall 2025 Programs

Get ready for STEMpowered PD Day Camps!

For the Fall 2025 term, we will run two one-day programs available for self-identifying Black youth in grades 2-7.

Participants have fun with hands-on activities by learning engineering design principles, try out some fun tech, connect creativity with STEM and explore the UWaterloo campus!

One Day In-Person Programs


When: October 10 & November 17; 9:00 am to 4:00 pm 
Location: University of Waterloo, Waterloo Campus
Price: FREE for self-identifying Black youth

We are excited to offer free pizza and snacks for the programs. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate gluten free dietary needs.

Camp Dates: 

Grade 2-4 - October 10

Grade 5-7 - November 17

Engineering Outreach is excited to offer STEMpowered After School Clubs, which are free four-week programs available for self-identifying Black youth in Grades 4-6 and 7-9.

Participants will cover a variety of STEM topics through hands-on activities. Explore new technology, design and build solutions to unique problems, and improve your digital skills, all while connecting with new friends during this in-person program! Each term will offer new content from previous terms!

When: Weekly evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 pm (See dates below)
Location: University of Waterloo, Waterloo Campus
Price: FREE for self-identifying Black youth

Available for self-identifying Black youth in Grades K-6.

Bring the whole family for a drop-in evening of STEM fun! Explore creative, interactive activities that kids and families can do together, side by side.
Please note that this event requires at least one parent/guardian to attend with your participant(s).

When: Monday, December 1st; Drop in between 6:00-8:00pm
Location: University of Waterloo, Waterloo Campus
Price: FREE for self-identifying Black youth

The program is aimed at Grades K-6, but siblings of all ages are welcome to join!
