UW Fitness services offers fitness programming for University of Waterloo faculty and staff. These session are NOT open to students.

  • Exercise in a private facility right on UW campus

  • Exercise under supervision of experienced and knowledgeable Registered Kinesiologists and Certified Exercise Physiologists

  • Benefit of supervision and instruction, yet at a lower cost than one-on-one training

You can't beat the convenience of working on your own personal fitness goals with qualified trainers on campus who tailor the program to your individual needs and abilities, plus there's no need to run off to a gym at lunch or after work.

UW Staff & Faculty Functional Strength and Fitness program

This program is an excellent choice for individuals of all fitness levels, whether you're new to exercise, looking to revitalize your routine, or aiming to build on your existing foundation. It offers a comprehensive introduction to functional resistance training exercises, with a focus on adapting them to your current fitness level and progressing safely. Led by experienced fitness professionals, this class is designed to support your journey toward improved physical health and well-being. No matter where you are on your fitness path, this program provides the knowledge and guidance you need to succeed.

Outdoor Functional Fitness Bootcamp

Boost your strength and endurance with this fun, energizing class! You'll move through a variety of exercises that build functional strength and get your heart rate up. Expect this 6-week program to include a mix of strength training, cardio bursts, and dynamic movements using kettlebells, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises. All fitness levels are welcome, with options to modify as needed. Come ready to move, sweat, and feel great! 

This class will be held outdoors, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, it will move indoors to the Manulife Wellness Centre.

Registration

CCCARE uses a secure registration and payment system to take online credit card payments for our exercise programs. This registration system has existed on our University of Waterloo campus for over a decade and has been approved by our UW finance department for our use.

Please review the Get Active Questionnaire before completing registration. If you have answered yes to any of the questions, contact fitness staff to book a virtual consultation before registering. 

Pay your fee online to secure your registration. You will have to first “Sign In” (top right corner) using your WATIAM credentials before you can register and pay.

Once signed in, you will find our programs under the “Fitness Services” icon. Go to “UW Staff and Faculty Training” or and select the desired program to complete your registration. 

Next, you will be taken to a cart checkout and payment portal to input your credit card information. After you’ve paid, you will receive an electronic receipt to your email from khsreg@uwaterloo.ca, so be sure to check your junk mail if you don’t see your receipt.
