Brief description of the organization
York Region District School Board is the third largest school district in Ontario, serving the nine municipalities in the Regional Municipality of York. Problem area
Equipment that will protect staff from a strike to the face, that is comfortable to wear for a full day, does not present additional safety challenges (ie, obscure sight/speech/hearing, provide a gripping location, etc.) and is also aesthetically appropriate for a school environment.
Main objectives
Creation of protective facial equipment for staff that guards against hand strikes from others. Designed with aesthetics that are appropriate for a school. Include a review of current equipment and testing criteria globally. Create a prototype with testing results.

International safety standard review, international product review, force reduction/dispersion data, design, prototype, force testing

Resources required
Design and manufacturing, force testing - we can connect the students with our Health and Safety department as well as our current supplier for PPE.
In addition, we will provide up to $5000 to support expenses (i.e. manufacturing and testing)
