A Waterloo Team WON this national competition (and the award of $4,500 charging station for Waterloo). University of Waterloo won the EV2015VÉ Student Competition, an event co-sponsored by AddÉnergie and Electric Mobility Canada. Teams were presented with an electric vehicle (EV) issue to resolve with respect to power train configuration and battery charging. The issue had both technical and economic elements related to ‘Innovation and Infrastructure’. Each team prepared a presentation of their issue, a solution and a plan for adoption. The Waterloo team proposed a Metal/Air – LiIon Hybrid vehicle as the technical solution.  Waterloo’s 8 person team was made up with undergraduates from Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in 2015 whom were Junior members of the University of Waterloo Alternative Fuels Team (UWAFT) which projects a bright future for UWAFT in the Advanced Vehicle Technology EcoCar Competitions.
