Professor Peter L. Douglas has been awarded the 2015 D.G. Fisher Award ....

that is presented to a Canadian resident by the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, University of Alberta, Suncor Energy Foundation and Shell Canada Limited for major contributions in the field of systems and control engineering.

During his 29 years at Waterloo, Peter has focused his teaching and research on various aspects of PSE (process systems engineering). Most recently he has be working on the simulation, optimization and control of carbon capture and storage processes related to greenhouse gas mitigation. Peter has collaborated with a number of faculty members at UW and elsewhere as well as with industry and government agencies. The award will be presented at the CSChE 2015 meeting to be held in Calgary.
