Architectural Engineering Grad Gives Back with Skilled Trades Scholarships

Daniel Rust, a recent graduate of the Architectural Engineering program, is making a meaningful impact beyond the classroom. After founding Capstone Painting to help fund his own education, Daniel is now supporting the next generation of trades professionals.

This year, he launched a scholarship program for students pursuing careers in the skilled trades. With support from the Grand Valley Construction Association, the initiative will award four $1,000 scholarships to help reduce financial barriers and encourage more young people to consider trades as a first-choice career.

Daniel’s story is a powerful example of entrepreneurial spirit, community leadership, and the lasting impact of a Waterloo education.
