Architectural Engineering students Jai Singh and Carissa Perrella have earned third prize in the 2025-2026 Architectural Student Design Competition, hosted by the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC).

Their project, UBC Tropical Conservatory, was recognized for its innovative use of steel and creative response to the competition's design challenge. The national competition invited students from architecture and engineering programs across Canada to showcase steel's structural capabilities through original designs.

Singh and Perrella's achievements reflect the talent, creativity, and technical excellence of Waterloo's Architectural Engineering students. Congratulations on this outstanding national recognition!
