A paper written by researchers in two Waterloo Engineering departments has captured the European Group for Intelligent Computing in Engineering (eg-ice) 2020 award for best paper based on improving the safety and productivity of masonry workers.
Carl Haas, chair of civil and environmental engineering, Eihab Abdul-Rahman, professor of systems design engineering, and Juhyeong Ryu and Tasha McFarland, both engineering graduate students co-supervised by Haas and Abdul-Rahman, won for their contribution entitled Automatic Clustering of Proper Working Posture.
