A professor at Waterloo Engineering has won an award from an international organization dedicated to advancing knowledge of groundwater and professionals working in the field.
The class of CIVE230 (Engineering and Sustainable Development) have been trailblazers in this remote learning environment in the Spring 2020 term. Learning about sustainability requires systems-thinking and a curiosity to explore. In the COVID-19 edition of the course, there were many chances to create new learning opportunities not only from the course content, but also from the world around us, the media and news, and from each other.

Capstone goes online in Spring 2020! Prof. Adil Al-Mayah and Prof. Nadine Ibrahim are teaching the Fourth Year Civil Engineering Design Project - Phase 1 (CIVE 400) this term, and wanted to thank all faculty who are serving as technical advisors. There are 32 teams in total, all of whom have found technical advisors to support and offer guidance to their design projects. A number of groups are working on modular construction of hospitals and clinics - motivated by the present situation! Here's a photo collage of some of the groups in the first meeting on Teams.
