A message from Print + Retail Solutions.
W Store is calling on all creators, explorers and boundary-pushing thinkers to celebrate the launch of our new You+Waterloo collection. In collaboration with Creative Services and University Relations, this collection highlights the central theme of the You+Waterloo brand campaign: “Our greatest impact happens together.”
“One of the reasons we felt it important to adapt the brand campaign for merchandise was to increase the reach, visibility and pride within the Waterloo community. It adds to the consistent brand positioning already in place, to help us create a strong, recognizable brand campaign that is unique to Waterloo,” says Christine Goucher, Associate Director, Creative Services.
The merchandise reflects some key messages that differentiate Waterloo from its competitors, creating the greatest impact, such as Fear+Less, Dream+Chaser and Create+Innovate. These messages, along with the tagline, are featured on various apparel, stationery and drinkware items.
“It was important for Print + Retail Solutions to support this central campaign. As the department responsible for the procurement and sale of all University of Waterloo branded merchandise, we understand our contribution to the strategic plan – to help create community and a sense of belonging at Waterloo. Seeing colleagues and students wearing Waterloo branded, and now You+Waterloo branded items, emphasizes the pride and commitment we all share in being part of this great University,” says Ryan Jacobs, director, Print + Retail Solutions.
As part of the launch for this new collection, we asked students to tell us how these messages resonated with them and how they bind us together as a community. These stories are featured on Instagram and Facebook.
What do these messages mean to you? We would love to hear from the UWaterloo community and feature them as part of this launch.
This collection is featured in W Store | Gifts + Apparel in South Campus Hall or online at wstore.ca. For more information about this collection or to share your story please email wstore@uwaterloo.ca.

While we're on the subject of transportation, Grand River Transit (GRT) has announced that all bus platforms at the University of Waterloo Station on the University's East Campus will be in operation as of today. "Routes 201, 9, 13, 19, 30 and 31 serve University of Waterloo Station," says GRT. "The new Route 30 Ring Road will serve all existing Ring Road stops, connecting campus buildings to the new station."
Construction began on the "transit plaza" in the summer of 2019, and the station opened in January of this year. The University of Waterloo Station includes a bus-only roadway and bus stops between Phillip Street and Ring Road, facilitating connections between buses and the University of Waterloo ION station. The new platforms are intended to provide easy access from main campus for students and employees.
For the time being, GRT says, GO Transit buses will continue to depart from the existing stop on Ring Road in front of the Davis Centre.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
