EDGE ambassadors

Our student EDGE ambassadors are an invaluable part of our EDGE team. You'll work together to represent EDGE at on-campus events and class visits. You support your peers and serve as academic and personal role models for students on campus.

If you're a University of Waterloo undergraduate who's eligible for EDGE (or already enrolled), working as an EDGE ambassador could be a fun, fulfilling way to gain some experience and support other students.

What you’ll do

EDGE ambassadors have a wide range of specific accountabilities, including:

  • Communicating with prospective and current EDGE students.
  • Encouraging students to consider EDGE to develop their professional skills and employability.

  • Representing EDGE at on-campus events, recruitment days, and class visits.

  • Helping to plan events and social media initiatives promoting EDGE.

  • Providing peer-to-peer support for EDGE students in-person and online.

WHEN DO YOU HIRE EDGE AMBASSADORS?

We typically hire EDGE ambassadors a term in advance. For example, for fall term, we hire ambassadors in the spring term before.

If you're interested in applying for a role as an EDGE ambassador, the best way to stay informed about hiring is to opt into EDGE. All students enrolled in EDGE will receive an email encouraging them to consider working as an ambassador when we’re hiring.

Student experience at EDGE

Natasha Alidina

Joining the EDGE team as an ambassador was great because it was a safe space for me to challenge my creativity and further develop interpersonal skills. Everyone a part of the EDGE team is positive and full of unique ideas, and collaborating with them to bring content and events to life has been a fulfilling experience.
