Reunion is a special time for all University of Waterloo alumni to reconnect, reminisce and revisit campus, and this year marks a special milestone the Master of Climate Change (MCC) program’s 10-year anniversary

Join fellow alumni, professors and current students in celebrating this special occasion. The first of its kind in the country, the MCC program has produced some of the sharpest minds and brightest talents shaping climate change policy and progress, throughout the country and around the world. Reunite with classmates and help us celebrate an incredible decade of impact.

        4:30 PM or 7:00 p.m. Rock This Town Encore  

        • Princess Cinemas, 46 King St. N, Waterloo  

        • Rock This Town brings to life the exciting history of rock music concerts in KW from the 1960s & ‘70s. An insider’s look into the gritty reality of building the local live music scene. This 70-minute documentary features interviews with music business pros plus performances by today’s musicians. Rock stars come and go but live music is here to stay!  

        • The film was produced by Betty Anne Keller (BA 1969), who will join us for an exclusive post-screening chat.

        8:30 a.m. Breakfast and updates from the Dean of Environment 

        • Minto Atrium, EV3, University of Waterloo and EV3, 1408 

        • Check-in, pick up your name tag and enjoy a coffee and breakfast refreshments in the beautiful Minto Atrium of LEED Platinum Environment 3 while you reconnect with classmates, former professors and staff. Then, take a seat in EV3's flagship lecture hall to meet Environment's dean, Bruce Frayne and learn what's new at your alma mater. 

        9 a.m. Flight simulator training  

        • This is an optional, paid activity for those who are interested. 

        • WISA Sim Lab, EV2-242, University of Waterloo 

        • Get behind the controls of the ALSIM AL250 flight simulator, which can be reconfigured to represent several types of aircraft used within pilot training, including single-engine, complex single-engine, and multi-engine aircrafts. You'll be guided by Aeronautical Research Coordinator, Rafael Pastorin Repato through a 45-minute live training session and experience first-hand what it's like to  be an aviation student at the University of Waterloo.  

        Session times are designed for one person but can be shared with another person in your group. Please arrive on time and bring a clean change of shoes for your session. If you are unable to do so, you will be provided shoe covers to wear prior to entering the simulator. 

        • $300 per session 

        10 a.m. Ecology Lab activities 

        • This is an optional, paid activity for those who are interested. 

        • Ecology Lab, EV1-135, University of Waterloo 

        • Relive your days in the Ecology Lab with some fun, hands-on, student-led activities, including: Beeswax Wrap making, Candle making and Bird Feeder making. Take home a useful, sustainable keepsake of Reunion that you made with your own two hands! Open to explorers of all ages. 

        • $5 per person  

        10:30 a.m. Faculty tours  

        • Tours leave from Environment 3 foyer, University of Waterloo 

        • Take a student-led faculty tour through the hallways you once called home and see what’s new in the Faculty of Environment. New and familiar stops will include the Ecology Lab, the rooftop gardens, the planning design studio, and of course, the ESS Coffee Shop! 

        12 p.m. Forever Black & Gold Milestone Anniversary Luncheon 

        • This is an optional, paid activity for those who are interested. 

        • Fed Hall, University of Waterloo 

        • Join us at Fed Hall for a gourmet buffet lunch, interactive activities and displays, live music and a celebratory address by University of Waterloo President Vivek Goel. Reconnect and mingle with alumni and friends from all faculties and wear or bring along your favourite University of Waterloo clothing or memorabilia for a chance to win great prizes!  

        • $30 per person, includes tax, one drink and gourmet lunch buffet.   

        5 p.m. MCC 10-year anniversary reception 

        • Minto Atrium, EV3, University of Waterloo and EV3, 1408 

        • Join fellow alumni, professors and current students in celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Master of Climate Change program. Reunite with old classmates, learn what’s new in the program and raise a glass to an incredible decade of impact.

Paid visitor parking is available on Friday, June 2, 2023 in parking lots A, B, C, H, M, N, Q, W and X at $5 per day (credit card or coins required).  

Complimentary parking will be available on Saturday, June 3, 2023 in parking lots A, B, C, N, R, W and X. Pay parking is available in Lot H ($5 in coins required).
