Geography and Aviation

Year: 4

Stream of study: Regular

Career goal: My end career goal is to work at a major airline, but I am really excited in the potential adventure to get there, which could have me instructing, flying in Northern Canada, or helping to operate Med Evac (air ambulance)!

Why did you choose to study in the Faculty of Environment at Waterloo?

Aside from Aviation, I am very interested in the environment and learning more about the research into aviation sustainability, so this program seemed like the perfect fit. Before even being a part of the faculty, I could tell that the community was great, and I love being a part of it on a daily basis.

What do you love most about your program?

As probably easy to guess, my favourite part of my program is the flying, but I also do really enjoy the courses I have to take alongside the flying! It is a really amazing thing on any given day, be going to university classes for half the day, and then later that night be on a flight around the CN tower. I never imagined I would be doing something so cool!

What problem would you like to solve?

Tying together my interests in both aviation and the environment, I am really interested in learning more about aviation sustainability and how I can positively impact this as I progress throughout my flying career!
