Are you involved in any campus clubs?

I am involved with the Waterloo Warriors Dance Club where I have the opportunity to showcase several dance performances with my team. I am involved with the SDG Impact Alliance as the Education Officer where we host and conduct several events about the SDGs. I am also a general member of the UW Indian Cultural Association and UW Unicef.

Why did you choose to study in the Faculty of Environment at Waterloo?

I chose to study in the Faculty of Environment because I love the idea that the entire Faculty is so broad and is never too focused on one aspect. This has always kept me engaged as I love learning something new and different daily. Environment, Resources and Sustainability (ERS) has allowed me to explore so much within myself that I continue to discover what I like and don't. I always knew that I wanted to work for the environment, but I did not know how to exactly explore what I liked until I decided to pursue ERS. Another reason I chose to study at Waterloo is that Waterloo offers co-op options to its students. Co-op can give Waterloo students plenty of exposure to the outside real world and build a great network with other students!

What do you love most about your program?

I love that Environment, Resources and Sustainability is a broad and diverse program. I constantly learn something new and it teaches me how to be multidisciplinary by examining the sustainable industry through different aspects.

What problem would you like to solve?

I see myself helping towards the problem of bringing more clean/renewable energy into third-world communities. My program has helped me work towards a solution by raising awareness about the SDGs in classes. The SDGs are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a "shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future". Goal #7 Clean Energy was talked about in one of my classes which brought me more interest and passion to be able to tackle this issue in our world.
