Anushi De Silva, a graduate student of Dr. Brad Fedy in Environment and Resource Studies was selected by The Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) for their fully accommodated annual student assistantship at the 34th ESRI International User Conference this past July in San Diego, California.

In collaboration with Dr. Johanna Wandel, Dr. Derek Robinson, Glenn Milner one of the (Department of Geography and Environmental Management's first Master’s of Climate Change students), and Christine Tu (TRCA) the group was awarded Mitacs funding to support Glenn in an 8 month internship working with the TRCA.
Aaron Thompson, a masters student in our department, was the winner of the Campbell Scientific Canada Award ($500) at the 71st Annual Eastern Snow Conference, held in North Carolina last week. This competitive award is presented to the author of a paper submitted by a Canadian student demonstrating the most innovative use of technology in the gathering of data.
The Southern Rockies Watershed Project and team was selected as the recipient of the Challenge Award in Water in the 2014 Alberta Emerald Awards. Mike Stone, from the Department of Geography and Environmental Management, is a member of this research team.
