Quantum Key Distribution: Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice
Lars Kamin
Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) promises information-theoretic security, yet bridging the gap between theoretical proofs and practical implementations remains a critical challenge. This talk addresses the fundamental difficulty of proving security when dealing with finite resources and imperfect devices, as opposed to idealizations in the asymptotic limit. We will present a framework that proves security against general attacks of an adversary while remaining capable of incorporating experimental imperfections. No prior background in quantum information is assumed.
