IQC featured in MIT Technology Review
The Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) is featured in MIT Technology Review as a pillar for building a quantum industry in Waterloo.
The article highlights the world-class research at IQC to build a quantum computer, along with the development of quantum technologies with the potential for commercialization. One spin-off coming out of IQC - Universal Quantum Devices – already has sales to laboratories worldwide. Other commercialization efforts are happening at IQC, such as a satellite to enable secure global quantum communication.
These initiatives are just the start of spinoff companies based on quantum technology coming out of the work by IQC researchers. Mike Lazaridis’ vision to turn Waterloo into a “Quantum Valley” will soon be a reality, thanks to his personal investment and funding from all levels of government.
