Memorandum of Understanding creates new opportunities for global cooperation 

The Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) at the University of Waterloo has signed an agreement with three Italian scientific institutes to strengthen collaboration between the two countries to accelerate quantum research and technology advancements. 

The Memorandum of Understanding is between IQC and Perimeter Institute and Italian scientific institutes the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), and the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA). 

The collaboration will create new opportunities for joint research, researcher mobility, and sharing of infrastructure to advance the development of theoretical discoveries and new quantum technologies.

The MOU was signed at the Italian Cultural Institute in Toronto at a meeting where Italian and Canadian scientific and academic leaders exchanged ideas and expertise and explored areas for collaboration in fundamental research, and new technologies and applications.
