A team lead by researchers from the Institute for Quantum Computing and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Waterloo has successfully detected the presence of single photons while preserving their quantum states.
As Vern Paulsen joins the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) and the Department of Pure Mathematics as Professor, the Institute for Quantum Computing now collaborates with a seventh department at the University of Waterloo.
IQC researchers, led by Thomas Jennewein, have been awarded $250,000 by the Canadian Space Agency to train and develop Canadian grad students through a space science and technology project.
