What is the deadline for applying?

Does my reference have the same deadline as my application?
Yes. Your reference and application are due by Friday, March 23, 2018 at 5 p.m. (EDT) Please note that your reference will not be contacted until you submit your application.
I found out about QCSYS after the deadline, can I still apply?
Unfortunately no. Applications are required to be on time in order to be considered.
Can I have more than one reference?
No. Only one reference will be reviewed per application.
Can I still apply if I am currently in grade 12?
Yes. If you are currently in grade 12 and you are attending university or college in the fall 2018 you are still eligible to attend the Quantum Cryptography School for Young Students (QCSYS).
How many students are accepted into the program?
The program has space for 40 students.
Is there a cost associated with attending QCSYS?
Yes. There is a $250 CAD registration fee due upon acceptance into the program. Students are also responsible to pay their travel to Waterloo and back home. Bursaries are available to help cover the costs of the registration fee and travel. You can apply for a bursary on your QCSYS application. Please note that once the application is submitted you cannot request a bursary or change the amount. IQC will cover all local expenses for students including accommodations and meals.
Can international students attend QCSYS?
Yes. QCSYS is open to international students.
I have a scheduling conflict. Can I miss a day of QCSYS?
No. In order to participate, students must attend the full program. Students need to arrive on Thursday, August 9 and depart on Saturday, August 18.
Can I log in and change information on my application?
No. Once your application is submitted you cannot change it. Please be sure to review your application before you submit.
When will I hear if I have been accepted or not?
We will email the results by 5 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018. We will contact all applicants to let them know if their application was successful or not.
