Kinesiology Graduate Student Association (KGSA) Equity and Diversity Statement

The mission of the Kinesiology Graduate Student Association (KGSA) is to represent graduate students in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences. We believe fostering an inclusive environment in the Department benefits all students, staff, and faculty. Thus, core to this mission is a commitment to practicing and celebrating equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism (EDI-R). We actively contribute to and participate in the Departmental EDI-R committee to support ongoing EDI-R initiatives within the Department. The KGSA is committed to advocating for marginalized graduate students within the Department and Faculty.

We are committed to planning and hosting events and assisting with the promotion of EDI-R resources and ongoing initiatives for graduate students with an EDI-R lens. Broadly, the KGSA will support the larger goal of fostering a graduate student community where marginalized individuals can be comfortable and supported throughout their graduate student experience. We acknowledge that a commitment to EDI-R is an ongoing process, so in that spirit, the KGSA commits to listening and learning (through failures and successes), continuously improving our ability to serve marginalized graduate students.
