Chris Vigna and Justin Yates

The last two years have been a challenge for teachers, staff and students alike, with the shift to remote learning having been a significant adjustment.

To recognize the valuable contributions that faculty and staff made toward creating a vibrant, collegial, supportive and engaging remote learning environment during this unusual time, the Faculty of Health Teaching Fellows created a one-time Remote Teaching and Mentorship Award.

The award recognizes faculty and staff who successfully balanced a range of demands, including bridging the virtual divide; creating accessible, inclusive remote learning spaces; supporting student mental health and well-being; helping students stay on track with course progression; facilitating faculty events; managing accommodations for co-op and other placements; mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; and more. The award was peer-nominated and adjudicated by the Faculty’s executive team.

Congratulations to the following recipients:

Other recipients from the faculty include Recreation and Leisure Studies’ Luke Potwarka, and Sara Houston, and Public Health Sciences’ Narveen Jandu and Doris Makowich.

Thank you for supporting and celebrating the amazing work that goes on in our Faculty!
