Canadian Space Agency astronaut Dr. Robert Thirsk visited the University of Waterloo and the Village of Winston Park to discuss his six-month experience on board the International Space Station and what life in outer space may teach us about maintaining good health here on Earth.

The visit to Winston Park, affiliated with the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging, features visits with seniors who participated in Thirsk’s “Get Fit For Space” challenge. The visit was followed by a public lecture in conjunction with Waterloo’s Richard Hughson, whose cardiovascular experiments Thirsk implemented on board the Space Station.
