Teaching and research interests

I am passionate about muscle and exercise physiology. My goal is to share that passion for physiology with students in hopes of igniting an interest in them to learn how our bodies respond and adapt to exercise.

I teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate and master’s level, including KIN 104 (Fundamentals of kinesiology) which is the first core course for our undergraduate kinesiology students. It is exciting to be the one to open our students’ eyes to everything Waterloo Kinesiology has in store for them. I really enjoy seeing our students develop and grow throughout their years with us.

Courses

KIN 104 - Fundamentals of kinesiology

KIN 202 - Physiological and metabolic responses and adaptations to exercise

KIN 232 - Research design and statistics in kinesiology

KIN 601 - Skeletal muscle physiology: Structure and function

KIN 603 - Cardiac and vascular smooth muscle physiology
