Research interests
The overarching goal of my research program is to understand the integrative physiology of exercise with a particular focus on the respiratory system and oxygen transport cascade. A specific interest of my laboratory is how the respiratory system (and respiratory muscle work) contributes to exercise limitation across the spectra of health and age in humans. We use an integrative approach to physiology that assesses respiratory, cardiovascular, and muscular physiology to explore how multiple systems interact during physiologically relevant stressors, such as whole-body exercise.
