Research interests
My laboratory seeks to understand the integrative mechanisms underpinning the oxygen cascade under physiologically relevant conditions of exercise and hypoxia. This is accomplished by studying the conductance of oxygen across multiple physiological systems (pulmonary, cardiac and muscle) and their interaction. Using concepts of homeostasis, regulation, feedback, redundancy and acclimatization/adaptation, my laboratory builds upon reductionists findings to understand whole-body physiology.
