The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) has issued a statement opposing Trump's immigration order. As a member of the ARL, and an institution dedicated to the principle of academic freedom, the University of Waterloo Library would like to express support for this statement, and for our colleagues in all nations affected by the current immigration ban.
A fundamental role of libraries is to support intellectual and personal freedoms; the University of Waterloo Library is committed to supporting those freedoms throughout our broad and diverse community. It is our mission to provide safe spaces, access to information, and to foster information literacy and intellectual curiosity. We value inclusion, accessibility, equity and cooperation.
