Charles Dickens Creighton glass plate negatives (GA392)

Image of Quebec City Charles Dickens Creighton was born January 1, 1875 to Owen Sound, Ontario businessman and politician David Creighton (b. 1843) and Jane Elizabeth Krammer (b. 1852). The collection includes photographs taken by Charles Dickens Creighton of Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, France, and England all around the turn of the 20th century. These include primarily landscapes and architectural features. Also included are 11 Kelsh plotter aerials of Kitchener from the 1960s.

Sol Eisen Collection of Americana, Mexicana, Canadiana, and Incunabula

items from the Sol Eisen collectionThe Sol Eisen Collection of Canadiana, Americana, Mexicana, and Incunabula is home to some of the oldest and rarest printed items in our holdings. Donated by the family of the late Sol Eisen, highlights from this collection include a 15th century dialectic treatise and a catechism printed in 1767 for the Montagnais people of Northern Quebec – the first book published in Lower Canada.

Schneider Employees' Association fonds (GA388)

The collection includes materials relating to the history, administration, and organization of the Schneider Employees' Association of Schneider Foods. Includes collective agreements, information on benefit packages, organization and administrative records, photographs and artifacts, as well as collective agreements from other organizations.

Sommer family fonds (GA393)

items from the Sommer family fonds Gisela Sommer and Ulrich Sommer immigrated to Canada from Germany with their two children in 1954 and settled in Georgetown, Ontario. The fonds consists mostly of letters exchanged between members of the Sommer family in Canada or Germany. These letters contain details of family life and commentary on events including the aftermath of World War II, Quebec separatism, and German politics during the 1970s and 1980s.
