New digital collection: Alice Riggs Hunt notebook

Special Collections & Archives is pleased to announce a new digital collection, the Alice Riggs Hunt notebook!

Alice Riggs Hunt was a journalist and women's rights activist. In 1916-1917, she travelled to West Virginia to campaign for equal suffrage. While there she kept a notebook detailing her travels, whom she met, where she spoke, and the responses that she received.

New digital exhibit : Harry Byers

Harry Byers instructing students

Special Collections & Archives is pleased to announce a brand-new digital exhibit, featuring the life of Harry Byers. Byers was employed by the Grain Trust to travel to the USSR between 1930-1931 to instruct Soviets on the operation of large machinery, as a part of the First Russian Five Year Plan. His wife, Violet, accompanied him, and the Byers lived and worked in various Russian cities, including Grozny, Moscow, and Nikolsk (now Ussuriysk), keeping a diary of their time there.
