2012 Young Alumni Achievement Award Winner

Mike decided very early on in life that he wanted to study computer science at the University of Waterloo. Attracted to the honours Computer Science co-op program because of its connection to industry, Mike knew Waterloo could help him fulfil his dream of working in digital animation.

Through Waterloo’s co-op program, he landed jobs at Alias|Wavefront, the Toronto-based company who created Maya (the Academy-Award Winning 3D Modeling / Animation / Dynamics / Rendering software) and Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, California. Today Mike is a research and design engineer at George Lucas' visual effects studio, Industrial Light & Magic.
