Noon Hour Concert: The Voice of the Whale

Springdale TrioFlautist Wendy Wagler, cellist Ben Bolt-Martin, and pianist Boyd McDonald together have formed the Springdale Trio.  In this concert, they will perform "The Voice of the Whale",  by American avant-garde composer George Crumb.

Sing For Water

Sing for Water Banner

At this public event, Jane Ramseyer Miller, Artistic Director of One Voice Mixed Chorus, Minnesota’s GLBTA chorus and Artistic Director for GALA Choruses, will lead us in singing and reflection. She will inspire us to give thanks for the gift of water that is fundamental for all of life, and will challenge us to commit to the fair and just care of water for all people. Opening and welcome by Blue Sky Singers, a group of First Nations singers. 

The University of Waterloo Department of Music at Conrad Grebel University College invites all students, faculty, staff, and community members to join most of the eight ensembles that it sponsors and organizes.

Instrumental: Instrumental Chamber Ensemble; Jazz Ensemble; Orchestra; World Music Ensemble (Balinese Gamelan)

Choral:  Chapel Choir; Chamber Choir; University Choir; Vocal Techniques.

Harpist Lori Gemmell and tenor James McLean will perform a selection of classical music.  This concert features French songs by Debussy, Faure and Tournier, British Folk songs by Benjamin Britten, and Glen Buhr's setting of Tolkien's epic Tale of Tinuviel.
