The Balinese Percussion Ensemble is directed by Dewa Suparta, artist-in-residence at Conrad Grebel University College at the University of Waterloo. A performer, composer, and teacher, he hails from a prominent musical family renowned throughout the island of Bali for their artistry and charisma. Assisted by General Director Dr. Maisie Sum, the two ensembles (student Gamelan and Warga Santi) accommodate a wide range of abilities and experience. After the concert you will have an opportunity to try out the instruments for yourself.
Admission is by donation, suggested amounts $10 general/ $5 students. Tickets will be available at the door or from ensemble members.
