Noon Hour Concert: Peter & the Wolf

Composed by Sergei Prokofiev, Peter & the Wolf is a well loved symphonic story in which the instruments use a theme to depict the different characters.  For example, the wolf is usually represented by a French horn and the grandfather by a bassoon.  Performed for us by the KW Woodwind Quintet, this is a classic piece to end the Noon Hour season.

The KW Woodwind members include Wendy Wagler (flute), Sarah Cardwell (oboe), Barbara Hankins (clarinet), Heather Carruthers (bassoon), Trevor Wagler (horn), with Mark Vuorinen as the narrator.
