Jamaican-Canadian artist, Joni NehRita’s songs explore themes of equity, universal love & cultivating imagination & compassion on a rich backdrop that blends soul, jazz & Afro-Latin/Caribbean grooves.  These are songs of the times designed to make you move, feel & think. This will be an intimate concert where she shares songs from her most recent album, "Love & Protest".

Joni NehRita is a multi-instrumentalist, self-produced singer/songwriter, music educator & Keynote and TedxED speaker. She studied jazz vocals & arranging at Humber College & has a knack for writing infectiously well-crafted songs.

Her expansive career includes being an arranger, producer, professional theatre and touring as a solo artist and backing others and keys. She has been fortunate enough to have performed abroad including Australia, Germany, the UK, France, The Middle East as well as in North America. Other highlights include being a guest vocalist twice for the KW Symphony & for The Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra.

As a music educator/facilitator, she has taught at Wilfrid Laurier University & has been a guest lecturer at University of Guelph, Seneca College as well as at high schools & libraries throughout the region.
