The UWaterloo Balinese Gamelan Ensemble will be appearing at the KULTRÚN FESTIVAL on Saturday, July 8, at 2:00pm on the main stage by the Clock Tower.  Join us at this wonderful FREE international festival in Victoria Park.

Noon Hour Concert: Songs For My Mother

Mary-Catherine PazzanoComposed by Carol Ann Weaver, "Songs for My Mother - from Appalachia to Africa" is a song cycle based on writings from her mother Miriam L. Weaver's pioneering life in Appalachian Kentucky in the 1940s (primitive house, flat iron, Hard Shell Baptists who met outside on the hillside), her travels to Africa, and her return to Virginia with poignant words about her sudden impending death in the 90s.

Balinese Gamelan Ensemble Concert

The University of Waterloo Balinese Gamelan Ensemble will perform a selection of traditional and modern compositions.  First started in 2013, the ensemble led by artist-in-residence Dewa Suparta and Dr. Maisie Sum is expanding its repertoire and level every term.

The orchestra@uwaterloo produces many such magical moments. Directed by Daniel Warren, students, staff, faculty and alumni from all faculties join together to play beautiful symphonic music.

This concert will feature the Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake Suite, Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, and Dvorak's Symphony No. 6 in D Major.

Rejoice in the Lamb: UWaterloo Chamber Choir Concert

Benjamin Britten’s quirky cantata, Rejoice in the Lamb, set to the delightfully peculiar poetry of Christopher Smart is the feature work on the University of Waterloo Chamber Choir’s term-end concert.  Organist Jan Overduin joins the choir in this program at Knox Presbyterian Church, Waterloo.  Music by Jan Sandström, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Tim Corlis, Franz Biebl and others completes the program. The Chamber Choir is directed by Mark Vuorinen.  Tickets are available at the door.
