World renowned counter-tenor Daniel Cabena will sing Ralph Vaughan William's "Ten Blake songs", accompanied by Sarah Cardwell on the oboe.
The Consortium Arts Ensemble will play Benjamin Britten's Phantasy Quartet for Oboe and String Trio, as well as Mozart's Oboe quartet in F major. Members consist of Anita Walsh on the violin, Brenna Hardy-Kavanagh on viola, our very own Ben Bolt-Martin on cello, and of course to round out the group, the renowned Jim Mason on the oboe.
Schola Musica Sacra presents Compline, an ancient monastic form of night prayer by candlelight. Compline is sung entirely by the chant choir from the loft in the austere beauty of Keffer Chapel at Martin Luther University College.
Park Sounds is a new duo comprised of Manitoba-raised, Montreal-based musicians Jennifer Thiessen (viola, viola d’amore) and Ben Reimer (percussion). Both members of Park Sounds are rooted in the Manitoba classical, pop and new music communities,
Eviole (pronounced ay-vee-oh-lay) is a group of musicians who perform music from in and around the 17th century that was composed for female singers. Music from this time period is very beautiful and poetic, often cheeky, and always delightful. Our group features Corey Linforth and Laura Pudwell accompanied by Miriam Stewart-Kroeker, cello, and Borys Medicky, harpsichord.
The orchestra@uwaterloo is a group of approximately 60 students, staff, faculty, and alumni from the University of Waterloo. Directed by noted local conductor Daniel Warren, the orchestra will be playing the following pieces:
