Earth Teach Me: Chamber Choir

The University of Waterloo Chamber choir performs "Earth teach me," a concert of choral works reminding us of the fragility of our land.  The concert includes works by Arvo Part, Veljo Tormis, Alberto Grau, Stephen Paulus, and Leonard Enns.

Carmina Burana performed by the UW Choir

Carmina Burana, composed by Carl Orff, will be performed by the University of Waterloo Choir.  This version will include the Inter-Mennonite Children's Choir, two pianos, and 5 percussionists.  Director:  Dr. Gerard Yun.

These auditions are for future students applying for Fall 2014 who wish pre-approval in the Music Studio performance courses--which is also a requirement in order to declare Music as your Major, and to be considered for the Scholarships available.  These are held on two dates: Friday, March 28 and Saturday, April 12.

Bertha von Suttner: A life of peace concert & exhibit

Bertha von Suttner, born in 1843, was in many ways ahead of her times. As an avid pacifist, this remarkable woman was the figurehead of a world-wide peace movement. She relentlessly fought nationalist fanaticism, aggressive militarism, anti-Semitism and recognized the dangers of hate breeding. As a writer and lecturer, she inspired her friend and benefactor Alfred Nobel to create a Peace Prize.
