We have 8 different Chamber Ensemble groups this term, playing a wide variety of pieces.
To aid in maintaining covid protocols, we are splitting the players into two separate concerts.
The Balinese Gamelan Ensemble has been at Grebel for nearly 10 years, led by I Dewa Made Suparta. This term they will present some traditional pieces as well as an interesting collaborative composition. You will be astounded by the patterns and rhythms.

Our Convocation Celebration will take place on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 2pm. At the Theatre of the Arts, for all students who have or are completing studies, and plan to graduate, in Fall 2021, Winter 2022, Spring 2022 or Fall 2022.

The orchestra@UWaterloo is delighted to present our first in person concert with a live audience in two years. Members are from all six faculties, and this term we will have strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.
The University Choir is directed by Liska Jetchick. This term it will feature a wide range of pieces from around the world, including Baba Yetu, Shenendoah, and Flight Song.
The UWaterloo Chamber Choir end of term concert featured Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, as well as a number of smaller pieces. Directed by Dr. Mark Vuorinen, this 30 voice choir includes many talented singers from multiple Faculties at the University, as well as music majors.
We are glad to report that Jazz Music is alive and well at UWaterloo. This ensemble is directed by Michael Wood, an experienced percussionist who performed at the Stratford Festival for many years. Members come from many different UWaterloo Faculties, Math in particular. The music is lively and always fun. This term Ernie Kalwa, noted local sax player and Computer Science alumni, joined us for the Winter term.
The live concert took place on April 3, and was recorded to be released on the Grebel You-tube Channel on Monday, April 18th at 7pm.
