We are glad to announce two new music scholarships, one for Choral singers and another for String players. These are open to students from any faculty at the University of Waterloo. See awards site for complete details.
The Helen Martens Choral Music Award
This award is for students enrolled in one of the Music department choirs
(e.g. Chamber, University or Chapel choirs.)
Recipients will be chosen giving preference to the following criteria:
a. Students enrolled in one of the Music Department choirs (e.g. Chamber, University or Chapel choirs),
b. Choristers who exhibit a passion for choral music and demonstrate vocal excellence in choral singing,
c. Choir members who show leadership skills in rehearsals and concert preparation
John and Erma Stutzman String Scholarship Award
The Stutzman String Scholarship is for students enrolled in a studio course in the Music Department who exhibit excellence in string musicianship.
Recipients will be chosen giving preference to the following criteria:
a. Students who have enrolled in Music Studio for a stringed instrument
b. Students who have completed an entrance or studio audition
c. Students who have demonstrated excellence in musicianship and ability to perform on a stringed instrument (violin, viola, cello, double bass)
