Giving Tuesday is a global philanthropic event, and today the University of Waterloo is raising funds for numerous initiatives. At Waterloo Pharmacy, Hallman Director David Edwards is personally matching donations to the Women in Pharmacy Leadership fund, up to a maximum of $5,000.
"Women represent a significant majority in the pharmacy profession but this is not reflected in the leadership of pharmacy organizations,” says Edwards. “Waterloo Pharmacy has prided itself on developing student leaders and this initiative will extend this focus by providing guidance, mentorship and leadership training for women who aspire to leadership in pharmacy and healthcare."
Here more about why this cause is important to Edwards:
This fund will support creating networking opportunities and delivering skill-based workshops to train young women in the skills required in leadership positions. Read more about what the fund entails on the fund website.
Rise to the challenge and donate today. Your gift will help chart a path to leadership for women in pharmacy.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
