For Maher Jibrini (Rx2023), the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy wasn’t just a place to earn a degree – it was the place to build his future. He reflects on his pharmacy school journey and industry residency.

Kyla Agtarap (Rx2023) always felt drawn to a hospital pharmacy career. When considering which pharmacy career to pursue, Kyla felt that her love of interprofessional work and medicinal knowledge reflected a path to hospital pharmacy.

Coming from a family of professionals in politics, medicine and academia, both in Nigeria and Canada, Olivia Nwaokocha (PharmD'24) was always inspired to drive meaningful change. Olivia is currently working as a community pharmacist, serves as the Black Pharmacy Professionals of Canada (BPPC) event committee chair and is a working group associate for the Federation of Black Canadians where she contributes to national health equity efforts.

Like father, like son

Namdar Moazammi (Rx2017) and Kia Moazammi (Rx2024), father and son, reflect on their Waterloo Pharmacy journeys. 

Dr. Nyasha Gondora (PhD ’20) has been honored with the prestigious Canada's 2024 Top 100 Black Women to Watch Award for her outstanding contributions. Moving from Zimbabwe to Texas to Kitchener-Waterloo, Gondora’s journey instilled in her courage, adaptability and a deep appreciation for community.
