Problem

Diagram of tilted glacier with vectors noted on the puck

The Toronto Maple Leafs, banished to Alaska after another disappointing season, are trying to play hockey on a huge plane of glacial ice, tilted at an angle θ to the horizontal as shown. Due to static friction, their puck is initially hanging at rest on the tilted glacier, when a sudden blow from a player's stick projects it horizontally directly across the slope with speed v=8m/s. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the puck and the surface is μk=tanθ.

Assuming the glacier is sufficiently long and wide, what is the final steady state speed w of the puck? (Answer in m/s)
