The University of Waterloo's Department of Physics & Astronomy is one of Canada's largest physics departments, with approximately 900 undergraduate students, 250 graduate students, and over 50 research and teaching faculty. Our research-intensive and highly-ranked department is home to internationally recognized researchers and pioneering work in astrophysics, biological physics, condensed matter physics, optics, and quantum science, offering students exceptional opportunities to learn, discover, and innovate.
