Prof. Eric Helleiner is one of six 2017 recipients of the prestigious Killam Research Fellowship valued at $70,000 per year for 2 years. During this time Prof. Helleiner will pursue groundbreaking research on "Globalizing the Classical Foundations of International Political Economy".

The Department of Political Science at the University of Waterloo are deeply concerned by the United States government's Executive Order banning travel to the USA for citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries, banning all refugees for 120 days and suspending the arrival of Syrian refugees indefinitely.

The Department of Political Science is very proud that Professor Eric Helleiner, was among the newly-announced fellows of the Royal Society of Canada – people who have been peer-elected as the best in their field.  The fellowship of the Royal Society consists of individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the arts, the humanities, social science, science, and Canadian public life.
