Dr. Rohit Ramchandani

Founder and CEO, Antara Global Health Advisors

Dr. Ramchandani is Founder and CEO of Antara Global Health Advisors, a Canadian consultancy that provides technical expertise and evidence-based public health and management advice to organizations around the world, including fortune 500 companies, NGOs and governments. He is Public Health Advisor and Principal Investigator at ColaLife, a globally renowned initiative focused on improving access to essential medicines like ORS and Zinc for childhood diarrhea by leveraging the Coca-Cola supply chain. His work has been highlighted on the CBC, BBC, Business Week, Development Asia Magazine, TED, and very recently with a Transformational Business Award in Health from the Financial Times and International Finance Corporation. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, the Advisory Boards of Audacious Futures, Raising the Village and Greenhouse social innovation program, is a member of the global Diarrhoea Innovations Group, co-Chair of the University of Waterloo GTA Alumni Chapter, and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Global Health Innovation in the University of Waterloo’s School of Public Health and Health Systems. 

After completing an internship with the WHO in India, he started his career in management consulting with Accenture’s Healthcare practice and then served as Sr. Health Advisor at the Canadian International Development Agency (now Global Affairs Canada) where he advised on investments in areas including tuberculosis, malaria, as well as Canada’s G8 Maternal and Child Health Initiative (Muskoka Initiative). Some highlights from his past work include:

  • Ad-Hoc Committee member for the Affordable Medicines Facility – malaria (AMFm) representing the Global Fund constituency of Canada, Germany, and Switzerland; co-chair of the Equity Working Group
  • Key role in establishing the global TB REACH Facility with the Stop TB Partnership which seeks to find innovative approaches to increase case detection
  • Steering Committee member of the Global Health Research Initiative (GHRI), a collaborative Government of Canada research funding partnership

Rohit’s current interests lie in the areas of global health delivery and access, health systems, multi-sectoral partnerships, innovation and human-centered design, and large-scale evaluation. He holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from Johns Hopkins SPH with a specialization in global health and health systems, a Masters of Public Health (MPH) from Boston University with a specialization in international health and epidemiology, and a BSc in Health Studies and Gerontology from the University of Waterloo.
